Padel Level Calculator
What level am I in padel? This padel level calculator asks 12 honest questions about your game and places you on the 0 to 7 scale most UK clubs and booking apps use. You get your estimated level, what to work on next, and the racket profile that suits your game. It takes about two minutes.
How the padel level calculator works
Each answer carries a value on the 0 to 7 scale. Your shots and court sense count most, your experience and background count half as much, because two years of social padel and two years of coached padel produce very different players. Levels above 4.5 are usually earned in competition, so the calculator only goes there when your match play backs it up.
| Level | Band | What it looks like |
|---|---|---|
| 0 to 1.4 | Beginner | Learning to keep the ball in play. Serves mostly go in, the glass still surprises you. |
| 1.5 to 2.4 | Improver | Rallies are longer, you return some balls off the back wall and start to move with your partner. |
| 2.5 to 3.9 | Intermediate | You use the walls, lob on purpose and win points with placement. Most UK club players live here. |
| 4.0 to 7.0 | Advanced | You defend off both walls, play bandejas to hold the net and think in patterns, not single shots. |

Frequently asked questions
What level am I in padel?
Most UK club players sit between 1.5 and 4.0 on the 0 to 7 scale. If you can rally, return off the back glass and lob on purpose, you are around 2.5 to 3.5. Answer the 12 questions above for a personal estimate.
What do padel levels 0 to 7 mean?
0 to 1.4 is a beginner, 1.5 to 2.4 an improver, 2.5 to 3.9 an intermediate club player and 4.0 upwards an advanced player. Above 5.0 you are in serious tournament padel.
Is this an official padel rating?
No. It is an honest estimate to help you pick the right games and the right kit. Your official level on Playtomic or with the LTA comes from rated matches and tournament results.
How do I move up a padel level?
Play rated matches against varied opponents, take a few coached sessions on the shots the calculator flags, and track your results. Most players climb fastest by fixing the back glass, the lob and the bandeja.
Which padel racket suits my level?
Beginners do best with a round, soft-core racket for the biggest sweet spot. Improvers and intermediate players get the most from a carbon teardrop between 355 and 370 g with a medium EVA core. Advanced players choose a teardrop or diamond to suit their game.
